Lovely place and location: frustrating differences between advertised and actual amenities Positive: The location was fantastic, with gorgeous views of the square. It was very spacious, very clean, very secure and quite beautiful. The elevator was also helpful to get our luggage up and down to the apartment. Negative: Booking.com listed that the apartment had a wachine machine -- which is very helfpul for our bicycle tour -- but in fact there was no actual washing machine in the apartment. when we alerted the owners they stated that the ad should not have stated a washing machine existed. They then told us we could go into the downstairs of the building to use the washing machine that the cleaning staff. But this entailed going down steep stairs into what felt like a dark dungeon, and had to navigate all the other loads the cleaning staff were using. Not great. Also, the day we arrived it was cold, windy and about plus 8 celcious. Thus, the apartment was very cold when we arrived, especially when we had to open the windows for a few minutes to air the place out (floral air spray?). When we tried to turn on the heating, the heat had all been turned off -- despite the booking.com information clearly stating the apartment had heating. When we asked the owners how to turn on the heat, they said it woudn't be turned on for a few more weeks. They also stated that no guests had ever asked to have the heat turned on before, so we felt like they were gaslilghting us and making us feel like bad children asking us for heat. They did get back to us the next day to say they coud turn on the heat, but by that point it had warmed up outside and wasn't necessary. So over all it was frustrating to choose an apartment based on the amenities advertised on booking.com, only to find the apartment does not in fact have them.
